Sand dollars are in the Echinoid (Echinoderms) class of marine animals. When they are living, they are covered with a suit of moveable spines that encompass the entire shell. Like its close relative the sea urchin, the sand dollar has five sets of pores arranged in a petal pattern. The pores are used to move seawater into its internal water-vascular system, which allows the creature to move. The species of sand dollar found on the Maine coast do not have holes in their shells. This charm was cast from an actual sand dollar found off the Maine coast.

We have two varieties of charm bracelets to choose from. One has a small daintier link, and one has a larger link. Both varieties are available in 7 or 8 inch lengths. We will gladly solder the charms on for you. Please leave a detailed note when ordering that explains where you want the charms soldered, if we are unclear on placement we will contact you by phone for instructions.
